The Velveteen Rabbit Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Zach Cox -- How Toys Become Real : When I was a very young child, so young that I do not remember the actual gift, my mother purchased the book along with it came a stuffed toy rabbit. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2017 )

- 1.0 out of 5 stars from Sara E. Mcmanus -- Board book does not contain entire story : The board book version is missing much of the story, including one of the most important parts. ( Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2019 )
- 2.0 out of 5 stars from Natalina -- Different From the Original Version : This is the classic story of the Velveteen Rabbit and it is WONDERFUL! I recommend it for everyone, kids and adults......But be careful. THIS copy says it is the original edition but it is not the same as the original. (Well, I dont know about the one written in 1922 but I have a copy from 1970 and this one is different). I was expecting it to be the same as my 1970 version but this one is bigger, (I don't mind that), the cover and dust jacket are a different color from the original, the pages are a horrible shade of tan and the coloring in the photos is different. There are many cute versions of this book but it you want the "original" or something close to it, this is not it. ( Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2016 )
- 2.0 out of 5 stars from Mrs. Creative -- Yellow Pages! : I love the story, but I was not expecting the book to have glossy yellow pages. I've never seen a children's book with yellow printed pages before and honestly, I don't see why it should have them! ( Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2017 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from 78Justintime -- Velveteen Rabbit Illustrated by Donna Green is the Perfect Gift : I bought two copies of this version of the Velveteen Rabbit (illustrated by Donna Green) when both of my children were toddlers because not only is it a classic story, but Donna Green's illustrations are stunning and beautiful. My children are now in their mid-20's and off doing their own thing but they have kept their copies of this book for nostaglic purposes. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2018 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jenni DaVinCat -- Classic For a Reason! : I was feeling a little nostalgic one day and added this on a whim to my cart. I looked through it when it arrived and I couldn't help falling in love with it again. This book is a classic and all children should have the extreme privilege of being able to know and love this book. ( Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2016 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Simon Osborne -- What is real? : Often children's books are more than just children's books. At the point of reading this is not always clear. But when hitting a significant age milestone, and you read a book like this, "what is real" becomes a very good question indeed. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 1, 2018 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Book Nerd -- Timeless and beautiful : I love when you rediscover a book from your childhood and just reading the title sparks a memory so strong you can actually remember the smells and sounds of the time. I adore this book. It is the epiphany of goodness and nature. As a child I didn't realise the message deep inside, but I guess that's the beauty of it. I didn't have to understand it was a message for it to be beautiful and make sense. As an adult, I can't wait to share this book with my four-year. This story is timeless. I hope some day my daughter grows up to read this book to her child. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 3, 2016 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Janet Gogerty -- A book children would still enjoy. : I glanced at other reviews; are we reviewing a story or how it is presented? I bought the kindle book for 49 pence after a Facebook friend raved about it; I had never heard of this lovely story. I would like to see the real book, illustrations loose their lustre on Kindle, children need real books. I would enjoy reading a good edition to the youngest members of the family, children can understand that life was different in the past for children, but toys and imagination remain part of childhood. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- A real joy : The child remains in all of us, no matter how many years we have lived. The child in me adored this wistful little story and the aged adult in me admired the writer's skill and warmth of imagination. A classic. I am glad to have read it and I look now upon my old love worn teddy bear with opened eyes. May he too think he is real for he is real to me. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 27, 2017 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Poppy -- Treasure : Wonderful story for life. I’ve known about this book for many, many years and always loved the life lessons inside the covers. A friend of mine came across a quote from The Velveteen Rabbit recently and sent it to me unaware that it was one of my favourite stories. I then got her a copy for her birthday. She said she will treasure it. A treasure it certainly is. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 8, 2020 )
